Sort of. I ended up making a different one out of fiberglass which I'm not very happy with. I just don't have enough people drinking my beer and forcing me to work on my rig right now.... ;)

Hey Tom - thanks for checking out my blog! the USB port (it's actually a female USB cable, plus a little plastic bracket that allows you to hard-mount the cable) came with my stereo. I just pulled the wire to the glove box, and then took the plastics out, and cut the rectangular hole for the port. If you try it, DON'T put your port in the same place as I did; move it just by an inch or two, because I ended up having to cut through a structural part of the plastic. I haven't seen any problems so far, but I don't like cutting through structural stuff....

The cell holder is actually just bent out of aluminum rectangular stock, riveted together, and then sprayed with bedliner. I have yet to find a decent cell phone holder out on the market. They're all either way too chunky, don't hold the phone well, or are illegal in some states (suction mounts to the windshield are illegal in MN and I believe CA).

Hope that helps!

Yup, the 231 should work. I believe there's a guy on jeep forum who has done one in a 4.0. Your driveshaft lengths will probably be different, but the bolt patterns on the 247 and 231 are identical, so they'll bolt right up. Then it's just figuring out driveshaft lengths and shifter linkage.

Great write-up on the 247-231 swap. I've followed in your footsteps on the LCOG idea and I'm running JK rubicon wheels/tires on my WJ with zero lift.

My 247 is whining, so I'm ready to go 231. My WJ is very similar to yours except for the engine, I have a 4.0. Do you know if the swap will be mostly the same for me?

Let me know,
Thanks,
Jon

not too much more to be had...I was given the FT1500M, I had the CB wire and connectors lying around, I made the stainless plate from scrap, and drilled/tapped a hole in the connector to hold the stock radio antenna, which I chopped off to 19", and rounded off the end........total cost, $0. lol.
